Surf

Surf

Busy weekend…more on Monday!

I like to surf.

This wave would probably pummel me if I tried to catch it.

Surfing thrills and terrifies me at the same time.

The ocean is powerful.

Grampians

Grampians

It’s 3:25 a.m. and I’m beat…

I hope to write more tomorrow for a few of these posts, but I have a mural to paint and a photo shoot to assist! :)

Be back as soon as I can!

I’m back!

Grampians National Park, Victoria, Australia – breathtakingly beautiful!  This is actually the road leading to the Grampian Mountains, not a dull drive!

Some friends and I took a weekend trip to the mountains to hike and camp.  I can honestly say I’ve never been anywhere like it.

We ventured through the woods to get to different lookouts and waterfalls and along the way encountered wildlife and nature at it’s best.  In the mornings we would be woken by the kookaburras and the smell of eucalyptus along with rocks and roots jabbing into our backs.  Somehow, we all forgot to bring sleeping bags or any kind of padding to sleep on.  Needless to say, we slept very little but explored a lot.

This was definitely one of my favorite spots in Australia, being there made me realize the greatness of God’s creation.

Dandelions

Dandelions

I don’t usually stay true to colors in nature, but this time I tried to “keep it real”.

I’ll write more later….for now, it’s date time with Mike!

Ok, I’m back.  This painting was inspired by a photo I took at the Yellow Turtle Inn, a bed and breakfast just outside of my hometown, Westminster, MD.

Mike and I were about to celebrate our 2 year anniversary when we decided to take a road trip to MD, surprise my family and stay at a b&b for the first time.

This place was awesome!  Every guest room had a different theme, ours was Angel’s Garden or something like that.  It was actually a little strange because everything in the room looked like it was part of a museum and hadn’t been touched for 50 years.  In the back of the house there was an overgrown garden labyrinth, which we decided to explore.  It wasn’t much of a puzzle, but it was a great idea!  This place truly had a magical feel.  As the sun went down we finished exploring and took our last few pictures, which included this one.

One more thing, the lady who owned it was very sweet and an an excellent cook.  I’ve never eaten 3 courses for breakfast, including pastries, pasta and whipped cheesecake with fresh fruit.  I was stuffed!

I would definitely recommend the Yellow Turtle Inn, it was a unique and unforgettable experience.

Rain Down

Rain Down

I chose the song “Rain Down” by Delirious to paint about, on this perfectly stormy Thursday.

Rain Down

“Looks like tonight, the sky is heavy
Feels like the winds are gonna change
Beneath my feet, the earth is ready
I know its time for heaven’s rain
It’s gonna rain

‘Cause it’s living water we desire
To flood our hearts with holy fire

Rain down all around the world we’re singing
Rain down can you here the earth is singing
Rain down my heart is dry but still I’m singing
Rain down rain it down on me

Back to the start, my heart is heavy
Feels like it’s time, to dream again

I see the clouds, and yes I’m ready
To dance upon this barren land
Hope in my hands

Do not shut, Do not shut, Do not shut the heavens
But open up, open up, open up our hearts

Give me strength to cross this water
Keep my heart upon your altar
Give me strength to cross this water
Keep my feet don’t let me falter”

– Delirious

Perspective

Perspective

This entry will have to wait until later tonight or tomorrow; I have to teach the kiddos and then go to life group!

:)

Stand on your head, climb a tree, go snorkeling, take a flight, sit on someone’s shoulders; get a new perspective and change the way you see the world!
