On what I thought would be the last day of my 50 in 50, the sun was out, no clouds were in the sky and the temperature was 75. How could I stay in and paint on such a perfect spring day? I couldn’t! I got into my bathing suit, toted all my junk (paint, brushes, water, paper towels, drop cloth, computer, etc.) outside on my back patio and turned on some tunes. It felt so good to have the sun on my skin and the wet paint flying in front of me.
It was a refreshing way to wrap up such a project, taking part mostly during the frigid temps of a South Carolina winter. It’s hard to explain the feeling of being so close to the end and just embracing the beauty of the outdoors at the same time. AMAZING!
A few hours after I finished paintings 48 and 49, I did some laundry, packed up my suitcase, and flew to MD with Mike. We spent 3 days with family and friends and celebrated the remarkable achievement of my brother, Logan becoming an eagle scout.
Life is good!
p.s. This song was chosen by my other brother, Sean. I love the song, but hope to have less paving of paradise in SC and everywhere.
